Before we get into your positive spin, a round up of the best stories of the week, I wanted to update you on the dream job club because there’s dazzling news there too. Last week we helped connect someone with their dream job and they got hired! Thank you to everyone who has reached out and shared the newsletter with others. You make this community possible.
To keep this electrifying momentum going, I’m featuring an irresistibly charming candidate today. Pete is a young man on the autism spectrum who is looking for a part-time job that utilizes his customer service skills. He loves people, music and would thrive at a front desk or greeter role.
His delightful mother Karen, told me that he loves helping and learning from them too. “He's the friendliest person in our household, which makes us laugh because Pete is autistic but adheres to none of the very WRONG stereotypes about autistic individuals,” Karen said. “He has been described more than once as "a ray of sunshine." :-)”
Pete is only 20 years old but he already has had experience working at Walgreen's, Rite Aid and his local community college's cafeteria wiping tables. He also soared in a previous role in the main office of his high school where he volunteered as a greeter. Pete lives in East Bay of the San Francisco Bay area in a town called Castro Valley. It's about 20 minutes from Oakland and in an ideal world that’s where his dream job would be!
Please leave a comment below or reach out to the dreamjobclub@gmail.com if you’re interested in snagging Pete!
And if Pete’s spectacular smile hasn’t made your day better already, here’s some good news you may have missed this week.
