Nothing will make you seem old, quite like going on the record and complaining about missing “hierarchies.”
Last week, Jerry Seinfeld continued his hard pivot to the right in a controversial interview with Bari Weiss, where he decided to drop some old-school wisdom about how he yearns for the days where there was a "dominant masculinity" and a coveted caste system. “I miss a dominant masculinity,” Seinfeld said. “Yeah, I get the toxic thing … But still, I like a real man.” Seriously, Jerry? Nothing says "I’m stuck in the past" quite like pining for a golden age when men were men, women knew their place, and hierarchies kept everyone in their place. "If you want to talk about nostalgia, that is part of what makes that moment attractive looking back," the 70-year-old comedian said.
What exactly was so great about being a man back then Jerry? Was it the fact that a 38-year-old man could date a 17-year-old girl without fear? Yup, I went there.
