This week I went on tv to talk about the Barbie movie, but I ended up telling anti-choice lawmakers to go to therapy instead.
While conservatives have been busy burning their barbies, Ohio got closer to becoming the first state to enshrine the right to abortion in its constitution. Pro-choice activists more than exceeded the minimum requirement of signatures and counties that they needed to get the issue on the ballot. But conservatives Kens on the Ohio Supreme Court are trying to change the rules, so that the threshold for amendments be increased to 60% to make it harder to pass.
But here are the facts: The right to abortion is the Barbie movie of policies. It’s a hit! Even the people who didn’t think they would be into it, are. And just like the box office, people are showing up and voting accordingly. Anti-choice amendments banning abortion at the state level are not only unpopular, they have historically never passed, even in red states. So now that pro-choice activists are on the offense, trying to protect the right before it’s taken away, anti-choicers are scared and want to change the rules of a game they know they’re losing.
But here are the facts: The right to abortion is the Barbie movie of policies. It’s a hit! Even the people who didn’t think they would be into it, are. And people are voting accordingly.
Some lawmakers will continue to try and rig the system to turn a pro-choice country into one that’s ridden with medieval anti-woman laws, but it’s fine because abortion is Barbie and they’re just Kens.
Even though we are going to win, I would love to see more of these anti-abortion lawmakers seek professional help for their issues with women. Imagine believing that you need to control what someone else does inside their own body, in order to feel okay inside of yours? It’s not like these guys don’t have access to the best therapists. These lawmakers have far better and cheaper health insurance than the average American, the least they could do is put it to good use. Let’s hope they take a page out of the Barbie movie and go on a journey to figure out why they don’t feel Kenough, instead of trying to pass laws that their constituents keep saying they do not want. la
And while you sit and watch the anti-choice Kens try to destroy Barbieland (and fail), you can tune into my new podcast over at Armchair Expert with Monica Padman and Dax Sheppard! In a new show called Synced, Monica and I lend an attentive ear to your most pressing and embarrassing questions as well as moral dilemmas, and give our extremely unlicensed advice.
If you’re curious about my private life, my dating escapades and getting a raw and more unvarnished peak into all of it, you’ll enjoy Synced. Be warned though, it’s different from anything else I’ve ever done before. And I’ll be candid, recording it has been challenging because it reveals the sides of me that I can feel are in contradiction with the feminist work that I do. But I think that being honest about the gap between who I am as a woman and who I want to be as an empowered woman, might help others do it too. We are increasingly living in a world that demands we prove our goodness, especially as women. But that still means living life according to other people, and it becomes another way that we give up our power. Women don’t have to be good. And all this virtue signaling that our culture encourages can slow down the pace of collective and individual progress. Synced isn’t about improving ourselves as women, but rather being honest about who we really are. Like everything that I do, I think men can get even more out of it than women. If you’re curious about how women really think tune in! You can listen to our first episode below:
I hope you are having a restful day and being good to yourself. Thanks for being there.

Quick question, who created you? Where did you come from? There is a loving, heavenly father and mother, who claim you came from them. And they are asking you to care for your body and the right to procreate children and to be responsible and not destroy the fetus.
Loving Synced already. So glad you and Monica teamed up again 🍷
