I would love to see this law expanded for domestic violence survivors as well as SA survivors.

Great point. There's no Statute on any Criminal offence in Canada and you just made me realize that often the reasons for reporting late were the same for both survivors. Cheers!

I'm an ex-Canadian cop. I'm not sure who could spearhead this but the American legal system needs to get rid of the Statute of Limitations for sex crimes in criminal court. In Canada, there's no no such statute. Psychologists shouldn't have to testify in individual trials as to why the victim didn't report, didn't report sooner.

We are all celebrating this bittersweet victory, however, finding him libel is not good enough. He is a predator who needs to be found guilty and sentenced. As it stands he will still run for president. He will still have followers. He will still commit crimes.

I applaud the call to speak out against abusers and force the judicial system to do its job and prosecute, convict and sentence. Moreover, we need to teach our daughters to use their power to fight back when possible. I learned a long time ago that an “ innocent” remark, catcall or touch must be called out. I did it and so did my remarkable daughter. When a boy made her feel uncomfortable in 2nd grade, she got into a ninja pose and threatened to kick his ass if he ever touched her again. Based on his reaction (and his mom’s), I know he never did that again.
