I know there's one there now. It actually started when Rowe passed and it was run by the Catholics. It's called "All Babies Cherished," but it's a scam. They talk women with crisis pregnancies into giving birth and putting the baby up for adoption, but they talk them more often into keeping the baby. They give cardboard boxes that the baby can sleep in, a month's worth of diapers, some formula and a blanket. After the month ends, so does the support. They will refer the mother to social services. Imagine being 16 and homeless, and this is the "cherishing" your baby gets and the indifference you get.
The misogyny behind this scam, and the cruelty, are frightening. When I needed an abortion in 1975, I found a clinic in the yellow pages of the phone book, and I got excellent care, including counseling, birth control and medical followup. How far backward our rights as women have gone!

I knew these centers existed, but I had no idea they get federal money! Ugh. Horrible.
