make it make sense

Here's how it makes sense: Republicans believe the only reason to have sex is to produce children. Therefore, if you have sex, you must do so only to produce children, and if you become pregnant, you must give birth.. If you want a child but can't get one through sex, you should just not have one, and you should also stop having sex, because what's the point? However, don't lose heart. You can still become a parent by adopting the baby they forced a raped 10-year-old to give birth to.

As a double-IVFer, I can attest that IVF is unromantic. But you know what else is unromantic? Scheduled monthly trying-to-conceive sex that makes you loathe yourself, your body, and sex itself. I'm working on getting my memoir published, and in it, I talk about how IVF is SO much more connecting than trying to conceive, which was by far the worst part of the baby-making process.

Hey Liz, visitor from NZ here. Love your work. My observation from down here is that this blocking of ivf is to limit “non-straight “ couples from reproducing. Since they have lost the ground on marriage equality this is the next ideological battle ground?

that’s very astute and certainly part of it!

The Republicans and Christian Extremists would rather force incestuously raped children to give birth than allow consenting responsible adults to conceive!!

It's so enraging it makes me feel "stabby" 🔪🔪🔪🔪 LOL

You know what freaks me out lately—watching the unctuous House Speaker toadying up to the “birthday boy” and all I can think is that he’d like to . . . (then have to report his impure thoughts to his son).
