In these unprecedentedly ridiculous times, I'm especially grateful for my sobriety and the wisdom it brings. In particular, the AA slogans have been a guiding light.

"First things first" reminds me to prioritize self-care and check in with myself daily, ensuring that I'm emotionally and mentally prepared for life's challenges.

"Easy does it" encourages me to embrace simplicity and accept things as they are, without overcomplicating them.

"Progress, not perfection" highlights that personal growth, especially spiritual growth, is a lifelong journey. By focusing on continuous improvement, I can cultivate empathy and acceptance, embodying the "Live and Let Live" philosophy.

The Serenity Prayer also guides me to discern what I can change and what I cannot, providing the courage and wisdom to make the right choices.

Lastly, meditation and prayer ground me and help me remember to practice love, tolerance, and self-reflection.

These principles, alongside the support of my recovery network, have truly helped me navigate these difficult times.
