P.S. Good for men, women, politicians, local, state, federal, international level. One of the best things I find to watch is representatives setting people in positions of authority and massive responsibility straight - for and on the record.

Thanks for this call-out, Liz! I especially appreciated your call for recognition of feminist authors, particularly bell hooks, when male authors deconstruct patriarchy and its impact on men. Bell has been a huge influence on my outlook on this question, and I cite her often. I encourage anyone following and supporting these types of discussions to go beyond reading people who quote bell. Go pick up the original books, so you can see the growth and context. Study the history of black feminist movements in the 60s and 70s, and realize how radical and isolated those pioneers were!

Thanks for this wake up call. I like the idea of "pick up the shovel" as an invitation to join in the work together. "Fix yourself" is bad advice for anyone. This work needs to be done in community, in my opinion.

Excellent. I think about this a lot. I'm a girl dad (young teen, only child), and we certainly feel we've raised her to be independent, empathetic to others, can be anything she want to be, etc.

I wonder how parents of boys are raising their kids..same/similar approach? Or something very different that contributes to this feeling of "male crisis". I do see in our circles some are definitely influenced by the online toxicity, which does not help.

i think this is the first time in history that raising boys might be harder than raising girls a lot of parents are unprepared because only girls have been seen as having a gender

Love this! It's so simple if there is any discourse say "men did x,y,z" and you're a man and you didn't do x,y,z it's not about you just because you're a man! 👏 Check out for the love of men by Liz Plank ✊ it's the path forward stronger together
