Besides turning in his grave over everything his son is doing in the name of health, RFK Sr must be aghast that Junior has taken a page out of the Mao Zedong’s Cultural Revolution playbook by making re-education camps a 21st century thing.
I believe this is the most terrifying thing they done so far. I'm literally shaking with anxiety and nearly crying with fear and feelings of helplessness. I have Bipolar I I and both of my children have Bipolar I. All three of us take antidepressants (and other medications) and have for many years. Without them, I believe we would need immediate hospitalization. But if they won't be available there, we most certainly would be thrown in a camp. I feel like I'm in a horror movie!!!!
i’m so sorry this is worsening your anxiety. here’s two things can help: one your meds are safe right now. his little report will take some time and this administration is incompetent. also as health secretary he actually has very little power. yes it’s an important position but he doesn’t really have the power to do much, trump does and so far trump hasn’t shown a particular interest in taking away meds, in fact one thing about capitalism is that big pharma is not gonna let anyone take away any meds!! so late stage capitalism is awful but at least its priorities are aligned with you (and your children) getting to keep your meds ❤️ i hope this helps. you are safe.
Thank you so much, Liz! How dear of you to take such personal care of me! After having read your message, I’m feeling much calmer. I intend to hold on to your words of reassurance. As you know, almost every act he and Musk have taken, in such a short period of time, have been acts of cruelty. Sick, sick cruelty. I have absolutely no trust that they and their cohorts, including the Republicans in the Congress and Senate, will act any differently going forward. It’s very clear to me, now , that I must stay connected to people I trust and who can be supportive of me. It’s simply too frightening and discouraging for me or anyone of us to face this horrific looking future, alone. I thank God there are those here!
SSRIs are not only for depression although that is the most common case. I had a head injury -- dropped my bicycle on gravel and even with a helmet I ended up in a special ICU for a week (no recollection of that week) and a low dose citalopram was prescribed. When I stopped taking it after about a month, my wife noticed I was crabbier -- not quite combative but definitely not depressed -- and I resumed the low dose.
Completely bad faith arguments coming from the right here. We've absolutely lost the ability to talk to each other on actual solutions. It's horrifying
My daughter has struggled with her mental health for years. She does her best to make sure she takes her meds. Takes care of her 14 year old daughter, 2 step-daughters, husband and a facility of elderly as an Activities Director. She is a fabulous human but struggles frequently. We are close so I do hand-hold her a lot and try to be supportive. She told me the other day I hear I am being sent off to a camp for crazies. Isn't that special? I hate that for her. Being singled out. But you are right, I worked 25 years in the pharmaceutical industry and they would never allow it to happen.
I missed that juicy detail in his hearings. Today is my therapy day: the psychiatrist and the psychologist both are keeping me from losing my shit from what this administration does every. single. day. to actively harm (and sometimes kill) people. The word "trauma" is one of the words that will get a funding proposal or training subjected to additional scrutiny for DEI objectives. They inflict trauma but don't want to talk about it: they might just have to be held accountable for what they've done. The cruelty is the point.
if they ban anti depressants before they ban assault riffles i’m gonna lose it
Did Oswald and Sirhan take SSI's? Jr invokes his father and uncle's name only to promote himself. That's one of the reasons his family hates him.

They’ll do whatever serves their goals as long as we let them get away with it.

If I weren't laughing about the oat milk latte/no worries comment, I'd be crying right now. This is terrifying
