We went through the election together last semester and my students wrote amazing memoir essays about losing their bodily autonomy after Dobbs. They openly mourned after the election of a rapist, as did I.. That's the correct word to use for this guy. And it goes to how he treats everything. The way he treats women is the way he treats this country and this planet. Thank you for standing up to him.
This newsletter is more and more important with every major outlet caving to Trump. Have you ever noticed that there is a COMPLETELY different reality in MAGA-land? I mean, the left certainly has its bubble-reality, but it's not at all comparable to the utterly alternative reality on the far right. Even their depictions of Trump- ripped & athletic- are completely divorced from objective reality. But that all has a purpose- it's to question the whole idea of truth so that our resistance is dulled. But we can't be dulled. And truth matters. Thank you for doing this. I'm sorry that you've been on the receiving end of so much bullshit. You're brilliant and brave.
Would love ideas for how we as individuals and as a collective can effectively call out these patriarchal systems of misogyny and oppression! Any interest in local gatherings?
Thank you, Liz! I’m glad to be part of your community. I hate that NBC settled that ridiculous suit, even after the judge had already ruled (or made a statement? Idk) on the semantics. NBC showed an extreme lack of integrity that put all other journalists at greater risk.
