The most infuriating part for me is this is the tip of the iceberg. Most girls become women and never see accountability for their abusers. In their families, schools, churches, towns... I feel Tara's frustrations viscerally. Just the abusers in my own life! No justice will ever be done. Now I have a kiddo of my own who is the age that I was when I was keeping insidious secrets and learning shame instead of having a healthy childhood. The abuse we suffer in these systems of patriarchy is more universal than ANYONE will acknowledge. Thanks for giving us a voice!
