Powerful insights Liz, thank you for the energy and persistence you put into this work. Especially now when it is so needed. Completely agree with "It’s time to validate men’s anxieties, not weaponize them." You and your crew are finding ways to have the conversations that are hard, that introduce the possibility of two things being true: I am a man who feels threatened AND I am a man who wants to do the right thing. While they feel in opposition and the right wing conservatives love to LIVE in opposition they are an AND that opens a conversation. So what would it mean to do the right thing AND courageously face your fears. It's not an either/or, right or wrong. Deep gratefulness for you opening up the conversations with men who would otherwise never get that opportunity - even when they don't shift their perspective or don't vote for Kamala. It's exhausting and scary AND you are finding the hope and humanity in those conversations. Keep breathing that in as your fuel;) This newsletter and your posts bring me hope, make me laugh and have truly expanded my perspective. Thanks for doing the work, we see and hear you!
This is so insightful - and his motivations for doing so (to attract young male voters that also are attracted to this ‘cosplay’ version of masculinity) are so apparent. There’s such a performative element here. Thanks for speaking these truths so articulately, Liz!
